This Robb line originates in Stonebyres, Lesmahagow, Lanarkshire, Scotland, and descendants migrated to Michigan. According to a researcher of this line, Scott Pomeroy, early searches of parish records show that a John Robb and Mary MacLeod, both of Lesmahagow Parish, had a son John Robb baptized in 1646, and a son James Robb baptized in 1650. Either of these sons could be the grandfather of Thomas Robb. b. 1715.

German Raub, Raup, Robb Lines 

The Hans Herg Raub Line
The line of many Robb, Raub, Raup, Roop, etc. families who came from Northampton and Northumberland County seem to point back to Hans Jerg, or Henry George Raub, who came to America on the ship "Loyal Judith" from Germany via Rotterdam and arrived in Philadelphia in 1732. There were a number of Raub, Raup, Rapp, and Roups listed on the passenger list, and while some were likely related, it is not certain how--if at all--the different men were related. Now, thanks to genetic genealogy and DNA testing, we have the ability to sort out these lines. The list below is compiled from a number of sources including Pennsylvania German Pioneers A list of ships arriving in Philadelphia 1727 to 1808 , Vol. 1, 1727 to 1775 by Ralph Strassburger; the Ancestral File; and a number of very well done family research sites including http://www.raub-and-more.com.
